Goal
In this course you will start with an overview of commonly used security mechanisms and their usage in various security protocols.
A more detailed introduction of the TLS protocol, sequences and phases follows.
The course will be completed by a short look into a live TLS demonstration.
Four main points are the intention of this course and the reason why it may be booked:
- make the complex subject easy to understand
- get an general understanding as basis for dicussions
- get rid of anxieties caused by its complexity
- get a good basis for other Combined Charging System trainings

Overview of communication protocols (OSI layers 1-4) and applications.

- Hashing , Message Authentication Code and signatures

3. Transport Layer Security (TLS) and Datagram TSL (DTLS)
- TLS/DTLS Phases and sub-protocols
- Authentication by certificates
4. Other Security Protocols
- MACsec
