Mădălin Iamandei joins CharIN e.V. as the Deputy Head of Public Affairs – EU

We are pleased to announce that Mădălin Iamandei joins CharIN e.V. as the Deputy Head of Public Affairs – EU, further strengthening the Brussels Team. With over 16 years of experience in high-level global and EU negotiations, Mădălin brings a wealth of expertise to this pivotal role.

As a Diplomatic Counsellor at the Permanent Representation of Romania to the EU, he was involved in managing relationships with the European Parliament, coordinating national positions on critical matters, and engaging in cross-functional collaborations. Previous to joining the Perm Rep, he held the position of Consul of Romania to Lebanon.

Mădălin’s appointment will sustain and enhance CharIN`s efforts in bringing common sustainable and innovative solutions in the realm of e-mobility, beyond the EU. His work will vary from developing ideal regulatory contexts in Brussels to further developing the successes of the Trade and Technology Councils (e.g. US, India, Mercosur) which are at the heart of ensuring global coherence in e-mobility standards.

Information about CharIN e.V.

The Charging Interface Initiative e. V. (CharIN) is a registered association with over 320 members along the whole value chain of EV charging and open to all interested parties. The composition of the CharIN e. V. combines highest competence with intended global market penetration. Leading companies of all associated industries and energy provider from all over the world are members.

The objective of the initiative is the continuous and competent implementation open charging standards and systems, like the Combined Charging System (CCS) and the Megawatt Charging System (MCS), based on the ISO/IEC Communication protocol and thus, to establish these systems in the global market. This universal charging interface for electric vehicles is mature, field-tested, and has already become the standard in the US, Korea, and Europe. The goal of CharIN is pushing and implementing the deployment of charging standards for all kinds of electric vehicles also for the seamless and reliable user experience around the world. The CharIN association has committed to this cause and challenge as “the best and most accepted system should be the global standard.”
