VTT becomes a core member of CharIN

VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland is inspired to boost the development of electric vehicle charging technology within CharIN.

VTT is one of the leading research institutions in Europe with over 2,000 employees. We operate as an impartial research organization in close co-operation with companies in several sectors of technology. We utilise the research and technology for advances in commerce and society. Through scientific and technological means, we turn large global challenges into sustainable growth.

For this, the green and digital mobility transformation is a top priority for us. Electrification of vehicles and electromobility are our key areas to achieve these ambitious goals, including heavy duty electric vehicles, and non-road moving machinery (NRMM). VTT has a strong motivation and long-term experience in interoperable and safe advanced charging systems.

CharIN will give us a top-notch view to emerging technologies and upcoming standards for charging, and a possibility to contribute to this important topic. Our goal in CharIN is to share our research knowledge of interoperability testing, charging cybersecurity, and automated and wireless interfaces within relevant Focus Groups and Task Forces. We are looking forward to co-operate closely with the other CharIN members for the mutual benefit, and are happy to join the community.
