
An exchange of expertise took place in our virtual room as representatives from shipyards, technology companies, regulatory bodies, and academia shared their insights.
Semih Tetik introduced the Megawatt Charging Systems (MCS) from the CharIN association's perspective and emphasized the collaboration that characterized the workshop. Thane Gilman from the US Coast Guard highlighted the safety aspects, while Ted Bohn, the J3271 convenor, discussed the importance of harmonized MCS standards, leading to further discussions and collaboration. Jim Andriotis, with extensive experience in the marine industry at Cavotec, presented charging solutions.
Afterward, we split into groups to delve deeper into specific topics: connection, grid and infrastructure, regulatory, customer and operations, and communication. The discussions were detailed and focused.
