CharIN Task Force Marine Takes Off: CharIN is Electrifying the Marine Sector

As a global association, CharIN is proud to be at the forefront of supporting the maritime sector with defining and promoting MCS-compatible shore power solutions for charging and powering battery-electric and hybrid vessels in commercial marine applications.

The newly established Task Force has already convened with stakeholders across Asia and New Zealand. Together with Liz Yeaman, CharIN’s Managing Director in Australia/New Zealand, the community shared the latest insights from the Auckland Transport (AT) Project with ABB, which is building an electric passenger vessel as a lighthouse project for the region.

The subgroup Use Case & Operations is already active and producing valuable outcomes. Additional subgroups on Port Electrification, Electrical Safety, Communication, and Testing & Classification will be launched in October to deepen the technical and operational framework.

With the CharIN Task Force Marine, stakeholders are joining forces to make standardized, future-proof charging a reality.
