Throughout the three-day event, CharIN was represented by Semih Tetik, Technical Project Manager, and Glenn Cezanne, Vice President for Global Government Relations. From the joint booth shared with the Maritime Battery Forum (MBF), European Onshore Power Supply Association (EOPSA), and Zero Emission Shipping Technology Association (ZESTAs), the team engaged with stakeholders from across the maritime ecosystem, exchanging knowledge and discussing current developments in maritime electrification.
As part of the conference program, Semih Tetik presented together with Carlos Martinez (Caterpillar Inc.) on behalf of the CharIN Marine Working Group. Their presentation, "Beyond Diesel: How the Megawatt Charging System Enables Electrified Marine Transportation," explored how the Megawatt Charging System (MCS) supports interoperable high-power charging for electric vessels and port infrastructure, highlighting the role of standardized charging technologies in accelerating the transition toward zero-emission maritime transport.
Infrastructure and Interoperability as Key Enablers
A recurring topic throughout the event was the importance of interoperable charging infrastructure as a foundation for maritime electrification. CharIN highlighted how standardized technologies such as the MCS, together with secure communication protocols and industry-wide collaboration, can enable reliable, scalable, and future-ready charging solutions for electric vessels and port infrastructure.
The AMT Expo once again demonstrated the importance of bringing together stakeholders from across the maritime value chain to exchange technical expertise and address common challenges. CharIN looks forward to continuing these discussions and contributing to the development of interoperable charging solutions that support the future of sustainable maritime transportation.
