“The CharIN Conference and Testival showcases the current state-of-the-art in charging technology. It's great to see industry experts come together to advance the standards that will make EVs work better for everyone. The automotive industry moves fast, and events like this keep everyone aligned on what's next.”Carlos Garcia, Director of Applus+ IDIADA North America
The Testival featured:
- 10 passenger cars
- 5 test systems
- 13 EVSEs
- 143 attendees over the course of three days at the Testival
“Events like this remind us that interoperability isn’t just about technology: it’s about collaboration, transparency, and continuous testing to ensure all pieces of the charging ecosystem work together seamlessly.”Erika Myers, Executive Director of CharIN Inc.
“CharIN’s Testival is where the industry turns ambition into action. By validating critical EV charging issues like testing interoperability across standards, we’re strengthening the foundation of a reliable EV charging network. ABB E-mobility is proud to partner with CharIN and its members to make EV charging more seamless, reliable and ultimately, scalable. Real progress happens when we work together and nowhere is that more evident than at Testival.”Cliff Fietzek, Global Head of Asset Management at ABB E-mobility and CharIN Inc. Board Member
Special Activities and Public Day
The Testival’s Public Day welcomed e-mobility professionals for a full day of live demonstrations, technical presentations, and market insights, including:
- Multi-PKI Testing by Irdeto enabled the evaluation of multiple V2G Public Key Infrastructures (PKIs) at a dedicated test site. Separate EVSEs or test systems, each configured with different V2G PKIs, were set up for this purpose.
- Live Demonstration by Philatron covering cable durability and pressure seal integrity to ensure EV charging reliability.
- Plug & Charge industry insights from ChargeHub.
- Presentations by Keysight and VicOne.
- Plug & Charge powered by Hubject: As our Strategic Plug & Charge Testing Partner, Hubject offered participants the option to perform Plug & Charge under real-world conditions.
"These testing events are where we actually solve interoperability problems before they become driver headaches. As CharIN's official strategic testing partner, Hubject participates in collaborative testing that helps different charging technologies work together reliably. With North America adding more NACS, CCS, and MCS infrastructure and new EVs from automakers, this California session comes at an important time. The goal is straightforward: test thoroughly now so the charging network expansion happens smoothly for everyone using it."Amit Bhonsle, Head of Product at Hubject North America
