Although the Middle East, important member of the OPEC, has direct access to fossil fuels, ecological aspects, and the demand of zero emission transportation become more and more important. Therefore, the respective governments showed high interest in the subject and committed to help building up the required charging infrastructure based on investments into a modern and secure technology with the Combined Charging System (CCS). To harmonize various customer use cases of different countries in the Middle East, standardization as well as strong alignment between the supporting countries will be needed.

CharIN serves as best practice and is invited to give guidance and to support these activities. We are happy to help and look forward to seeing the GCC region quickly developing with regards to charging infrastructure enabling e-mobility.
