On June 14th, CharIN had the great opportunity to present its activities at the United Nations in the framework of the UN Global Compact Leaders Summit, and to show how an association can unite relevant stakeholders from all levels of the value chain to identify and develop solutions for a common goal.

In CharIN's case, our members have been extremely successful in finding common ground on multiple topics by developing a platform that all stakeholders of the e-mobility ecosystem can use.

In fact, the ISO/IEC 15118 platform with the Combined Charging System CCS and the Megawatt Charging System MCS have been so successful that it seems that they will also find their way into the Marine and Aeronautics industry.

All these efforts have allowed to fast-track the electrification of mobility, thereby reducing emissions, and making sure that  the sustainable development goals set by the UN can be achieved.

We also had the opportunity to share CharIN’s working template with the Sustainable Light Weighting industry which will hopefully have a positive impact on developing International Standards for this game-changing technology. Mutual understanding on international level will help the industry share and spread its know-how and technology based on one common standard to all corners of the world.
