ADNOC Distribution becomes a Core Member of CharIN

ADNOC Distribution strengthens its commitment to sustainable mobility by joining the CharIN initiative as a Core Member.

ADNOC Distribution, based in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, has become a Core Member of the Charging Interface Initiative (CharIN), a global initiative aimed at fostering the development of interoperable electric vehicle (EV) charging standards.

As a member of CharIN, ADNOC Distribution will play an active role in promoting the development and implementation of industry-leading EV charging technologies. This participation is expected to support ADNOC Distribution's plans to expand its EV charging infrastructure, providing customers with greater accessibility to fast, efficient, and reliable EV charging solutions, and underscores its dedication to supporting the transition to sustainable and low-carbon mobility solutions.


As of 30 November 2024, ADNOC Distribution operates over 100 fast and super-fast EV charging points across the UAE under the E2GO brand - one of the country’s largest networks - and plans to expand this to at least 500 charging points by 2028. As a key enabler of electric mobility, ADNOC Distribution's business model includes electrifying key highways with EV super hubs and integrating charging services within its consumer app, including automatic vehicle recognition and payment through the Plug & Charge feature.

With 855 service stations across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt, ADNOC Distribution has powered customers’ journeys since 1973 with a commitment to mobility, retail excellence, and sustainable practices. In 2024, the Company ranked in the 95th percentile of S&P Global’s ESG ratings, was leader, improved its LSEG ESG ranking to 60th globally among 403 peers, was listed in multiple FTSE ESG indices and was recognized by Bloomberg as an industry ESG leader.
