Latin American countries are making rapid progress in sustainable mobility. Even Chile, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Panama and Paraguay have passed electro mobility laws.
In addition, Argentina launched the Sustainable Transport Plan, and Bolivia and Honduras are working on strategies.
The main challenges for electric mobility in Latin America are to establish long-term regulatory frameworks that provide signals to the private sector to invest in charging infrastructure for electric vehicles and the electrification of public and heavy transport.
Regulatory frameworks
As a journalist specializing in sustainability and renewable energy, I have always been interested in the electrification of transport in Latin America, the Caribbean and Spain. I started working as a journalist when I was 18 years old and since then I have been learning more about the transport sector, a sector that I am now passionate about and want to continue to enjoy.
