CharIN North America invites industry leaders, automakers, charging manufacturers, utilities, energy companies, standards organizations, government agencies, testing laboratories, and solution providers to participate in the inaugural North American AC V2G Task Force Workshop. This half-day workshop will bring together experts from across the ecosystem to review the current state of AC bidirectional charging, align ongoing standards and certification activities, identify interoperability challenges, and establish a collaborative roadmap for accelerating market adoption.
The CharIN AC V2G Task Force will serve as an industry coordination forum—bringing together organizations already leading technical and standardization development to promote interoperability, certification readiness, and end-to-end ecosystem integration with the focus on user experience and acceleration of AC V2G adoption in North America.
Open to both CharIN members and non-members, the workshop provides an opportunity to engage with stakeholders working to advance AC bidirectional charging and V2G interoperability.
Topics will include:
- Current status of AC V2G deployment in North America
- Lessons from Europe
- Progress on key standards including ISO 15118-20, SAE J3072, UL 1741 Supplement SC, IEEE 2030.5, and related grid integration activities
- Utility and regulatory perspectives
- Certification and conformance testing needs
- Building an interoperable end-to-end AC V2G ecosystem
- Defining priorities and workstreams for the CharIN North America AC V2G Task Force
Whether you are involved in vehicle development, charging infrastructure, utility integration, standards development, testing, certification, or public policy, your participation will help shape a coordinated, interoperable path toward large-scale AC V2G deployment in North America.
The workshop will be offered in a hybrid format for both in-person and virtual participation.
