Panel 1: The Future of Charging Reliability

Description

This session will describe the need for a better customer experience starting with charger reliability.
We'll examine the reliability requirements outlined in the new California and National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure funding and answer questions like:
- How can we improve service through the features and functionality of ISO-15118?
- How can we provide more driver transparency around things like charger availability and rate of charge?
- How could we add new features, like increased fees for power delivery rates?
...and much more.

Description

This session will describe the fundamentals of MCS, the technical, policy and business impacts of MCS, and the "messy middle" transition from CCS to MCS for medium- and heavy-duty EVs and future proofing EVSE today to accommodate MCS for the future (e.g., planning for dual nozzles). This session will also describe MCS opportunities to move beyond on-road to air, marine, and rail.

Fireside Chat 1 : Future electric utility constraints with MCS

Description

This session will take a hard look at the real world constraints of our current electrical grid in meeting the multi-megawatt demands of MCS. We'll have speakers from the grid operations and charging infrastructure world to relay the difficulties experienced to date, as well as provide solutions for the future to meet the moment and deploy infrastructure at the scale and speed necessary.
