1:30-3:30 pm Pacific Time – Electric Marine Workshop (in-person or virtual)

Location: Long Beach Container Terminal Administration Building, 1171 Pier F Ave., Long Beach, CA 90802

This hybrid workshop will be the fifth of a series of workshops for stakeholders who are interested in the electrification of the marine industry and the development of a global high power charging standard for marine applications, leveraging the Megawatt Charging System (MCS). The workshop will help be used to define the requirements for the marine industry and build the foundation to launch a new CharIN Marine Task Force. Building blocks from the previous four workshops will be integrated into the discussions, including a baseline of understanding about MCS, pre-identified gaps in the standard, technical and regulatory issues related to standards for marine MCS, and the necessary consensus for international collaboration.

The workshop series focuses on commercial, DC fast charging for battery-driven marine vessels, with an emphasis on short-haul journeys like ferries, tugs, freshwater bulkers, river cruises, and offshore vessels.
