Climate risks are materialising globally, and recent unprecedented floods indicate the risks the climate crisis poses to Dubai, and the need for rapid action. A member of the C40 Cities network since 2015, Dubai has showcased its commitment to climate action by launching its ambitious Carbon Abatement Plan (CAP) at COP28, moving towards net zero emissions in 2050. Earlier in 2024, the city established the ‘Dubai Environment and Climate Change Authority’ which will unite implementation efforts to meet the city’s climate mitigation and adaptation goals. As Dubai moves to this ambitious next phase, this event aims to bring together all relevant stakeholders to generate discussions that can support charting a path towards the accelerated implementation and mainstreaming of Dubai’s climate goals and priorities.
