CharIN Testival EUROPE 2026 – The Netherlands

Date: May 5 – 7, 2026
Location: Arnhem, The Netherlands
Host: ElaadNL
Co-Host: Milence

We gathered at ElaadNL in Arnhem, The Netherlands, for an exciting Testival at the start of the European summer 2026. Co-hosted by Milence, the event took place from May 5 to 7, 2026, during which participants immersed themselves in the world of e-mobility charging and cutting-edge testing.

This year, the Testival placed special emphasis on Megawatt Charging System (MCS) and Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) testing, showcasing the latest breakthroughs in high-power charging and bidirectional energy exchange. Attendees had the unique opportunity to test MCS and V2G-enabled vehicles and charging stations in real-world scenarios.

Participants explored the newest developments in e-mobility interoperability and networked with key stakeholders across the EV charging ecosystem, from vehicle OEMs to infrastructure providers. This event represented a major step forward in advancing high-power charging infrastructure and the integration of sustainable energy.

Impressions of the CharIN Testival EUROPE 2026 – The Netherlands

Host: ElaadNL

Hosted its fourth CharIN Testival. The Knowledge and Innovation Center ElaadNL researches and tests smart, sustainable charging for electric vehicles. ElaadNL is an initiative of the joint Dutch Grid Operators. Through their mutual involvement in ElaadNL, network operators are preparing for a future with electric driving and sustainable charging.

Together with manufacturers from around the world, we test the latest charging technologies for electric cars, trucks, and buses in our Test Lab in Arnhem. We investigate the expected growth of various forms of electric transport, the associated charging infrastructure, and how to integrate these smartly into the power grid.

Host: Milence

Milence, co-hosted of the CharIN Testival EUROPE 2026. Established in July 2022 as a joint venture between Daimler Truck, the TRATON GROUP, and the Volvo Group, Milence is committed to making road transport fossil-free. To achieve this, the company is building a reliable, high-performance charging network for battery-electric heavy-duty trucks, deploying infrastructure along the major TEN-T corridors across Europe in line with customer needs and market developments. With an initial focus on 15 markets and operational hubs already active in key locations offering also megawatt charging, Milence is rapidly expanding its network to enable seamless cross-border operations for electric heavy-duty vehicles. At its Interoperability Lab, the company continuously tests the latest charging solutions, supporting the transition to a more reliable and efficient transport system.
