CharIN Testival EUROPE 2025 - France

Date: June 03 – 05, 2025
Location: Saint-Genis-Pouilly, France (outside Geneva, next to CERN)
Host: Advantics

We gathered at Advantics in Saint-Genis-Pouilly, France, for an exciting Testival at the start of european summer 2025! From June 3 to 5, 2025, participants immersed themselves in the world of e-mobility charging and cutting-edge testing.

We explored the latest developments in e-mobility and interoperability while testing a variety of vehicles, charging stations, and communication controllers. For the first time at a European Testival, we also conducted real Megawatt Charging System (MCS) testing—marking a major milestone in advancing high-power charging.
Participants networked with stakeholders from across the e-mobility value chain and forged valuable in-person connections.

Additional Features

Multi-PKI Testing by Irdeto

At the upcoming CharIN Testival, for the regular round-robin testing the provision of an Online V2G PKI for PnC vis a CPMS for End2End testing use will be used. This testing option will feature a CPMS Backend, eMSP service, and Plug & Charge ecosystem, where EVSEs can connect to the CPMS Backend via the OCPP standard. Participants are required to complete the onboarding process for both EVSEs and EVs.

Additionally, an exciting new feature, Multi V2G PKI Testing, allows for testing multiple V2G PKIs at a dedicated location, requiring prior EV onboarding. The testing will be conducted at a dedicated test location where separate EVSEs or Test Systems with different V2G PKIs are prepared. Participants are required to complete the onboarding process for EVs, ensuring smooth testing procedures. The testers will receive the opportunity to sign up during the technical registration.

End to End Plug and Charge Session with Roaming Partners Demo

Join us for a groundbreaking demo, showcasing the first-ever Plug and Charge session enabled through a roaming hub. This demonstration will walk through the full process—from Preparation and Authentication to Authorization and final Reconciliation—proving true interoperability across ecosystems. It highlights how Plug and Charge can seamlessly extend beyond isolated networks to support roaming scenarios at scale.".
