CharIN at Cal EPIC Capital Charge Yard Grand Opening

Join CharIN for the grand opening of the Capital Charge Yard, a new facility dedicated to EV charging interoperability testing.

CharIN, Cal EPIC, KERI, and other partners, with support from the California Energy Commission, have established the Capital Charge Yard, a permanent EV interoperability testing facility in Sacramento, California. The facility will support industry activities including CharIN Testivals, CharIN conformance testing, and other testing and interoperability activities.

The Capital Charge Yard is part of the Cal EPIC Innovation Hub, a 33,000-square-foot R&D and manufacturing accelerator for clean energy and transportation technologies. The Hub includes 9,000 square feet dedicated to the Capital Charge Yard, with infrastructure for testing Level 2 and DC fast charging equipment, as well as additional space for meetings, classrooms, manufacturing, and prototyping.

We invite industry partners and the wider EV charging community to join us for the grand opening and discover the new facility, meet the partners behind the project, and learn more about its role in supporting EV charging interoperability.

The program will include remarks from community leaders and partners, guided tours of the facility, networking opportunities, light refreshments, and a brief ribbon-cutting ceremony.

  • Software tools
  • Access licenses or test platforms

  • Other resources relevant to EV/EVSE interoperability testing
